Update on the 25th (not exactly sure when it started) Annual Hopkinton Summer Sizzler Baseball Tournament. The coaches meeting will be June 8 in Hopkinton, via Zoom thanks to Covid having us all used to doing everything on camera from the chest up.
We are scheduled to open up the tournament on Monday, June 14th, with the final Championship games being played on Sunday, July 18th. Each team will play up to 10 games to earn a "seeding" going into the final week, which is a single-elimination bracket with the number of rounds based upon the number of teams in the division. The champions and runners up should play a total of 12-13 games, weather-permitting. The Summer Sizzler Tournament understands that the 4th of July holiday weekend should not have scheduled games, so there will be NO GAMES from Friday, July 2nd through Sunday, July 4th.
8U: Players born between 9/1/2012 and 8/31/2013 (though there is no 8U division in 2021, 8U players may "play up" in 9U)
9U: Players born between 9/1/2011 and 8/31/2012
10U: Players born between 9/1/2010 and 8/31/2011
11U: Players born between 9/1/2009 and 8/31/2010
12U: Players born between 9/1/2008 and 8/31/2009
As always, thanks to all of the coaches and volunteers in advance for your participation and support. Our goal remains consistent with regards to the objectives of the tournament: to have a great time playing a competitive "B Level" tournament, where all of the players can continue to develop their baseball skills on the diamond and make new friends in neighboring towns while providing the parents, the coaches and the fans some great baseball to watch.
